Accreditation
The BSN and MSN programs at UNT Health Fort Worth are pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (www.ccneaccreditation.org). Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted. Find additional accreditation info here.
Professional Licensure
Important information for enrolled and prospective students regarding nursing programs that lead to licensure: Our UNT Health College of Nursing BSN and MSN programs are pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted. Graduates from the traditional BSN will be eligible to sit for national licensure (NCLEX-RN) and the MSN-PMHNP graduates eligible to sit for national certification (ANCC PMHNP-BC exam or AANPCB), thus meeting requirements for RN and APRN professional licensure in the state of Texas. We cannot guarantee that UNT Health College of Nursing programs meet all the requirements for professional licensure in other states (some states have specific topical requirements). Applicants are encouraged to check the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) website for state specific requirements. Each state has its own licensing board and although UNT Health is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), some state boards of nursing or state higher education commissions may impose additional restrictions for offering distance education courses within their state.
