Donating Securities
Thank you for your interest in making a gift to the UNT Health Foundation. Many donors make gifts using appreciated securities because it allows them to avoid the capital gains tax on the appreciation and to take the full current value of the security as a charitable gift deduction. You can make a gift to securities in just a few simple steps:
Initiate The Securities Transfer
You must contact your broker to initiate the transfer of securities, whether you choose to transfer electronically or send your certificates by mail. These two common methods allow you to easily make a gift of securities to the UNT Health Foundation.
Send The Securities To UNT Health Foundation
Most gifts of securities are made via electronic transfer. If you hold the certificates, you can choose to send them through the mail. However, if you do not hold the certificates, the transfer must be done electronically.
