Eligibility Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution with a nursing program accredited from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the American Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
  • Evidence of an active, unencumbered registered nurse license in a state or region that is approved through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
  • Out-of-state applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis and in accordance with the Board of Nursing regulations.

  • Negative drug screening.

  • Holistic Admission Assessment completion.
  • All applicants are required to submit two former faculty or employer references (Submitted as part of NursingCAS).
  • Professional resume or curriculum vitae (CV) (Submitted as part of NursingCAS).
  • Official transcripts (Unofficial not accepted) uploaded to NursingCAS.

Deadlines

Application open August 7th, 2025.

MSN in Psychiatric Mental Health NP:

Your application must be submitted by 10:59 pm Central on April 1, 2026.

Supplemental materials must be submitted by 10:59 pm on April 15, 2026.

MSN in Practice Innovation:

Your application must be submitted by 10:59 pm Central on June 1, 2026.

Supplemental materials must be submitted by 10:59 pm on June 15, 2026.

These include official transcripts, two former faculty or employer references, professional resume or Curriculum vitae (CV).

Items must be submitted to NursingCAS unless otherwise noted.

Your application must be Verified by the deadline for transcripts and other required items. Verified means that NursingCAS has ensured that all of your coursework was entered correctly and consistently, which allows us to fairly evaluate your academic history. Because this process takes time, you should plan to have transcripts submitted as soon as possible in the application process.

You should have completed all coursework by August 1, 2026 to ensure transcripts can be submitted to Admissions prior to the start of the program.

Admitted students will need to submit official transcripts for any coursework not completed at the time of application. Final transcripts may be submitted to NursingCAS as late as August 1, 2026. Final transcripts may also be sent to processing@unthealth.edu.
