Who We Are
"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about." - Margaret J. Wheatley, American writer and teacher
What is the Community Corps?
The Community Corps is a dynamic network of individuals and organizations partnering with the College of Public Health to create healthier, thriving communities. Members bring their lived experiences, professional expertise, and passion for change to:
- Advance public health education
- Innovate public health research and scholarship
- Work for health equity
- Create a positive impact on communities
Centering community in all we do
The Community Corps initiative centers our community partners in everything we do. This includes the ways that we promote the education and skills development of our current and future workforce; the ways that we co-seek, develop, and implement solutions for healthier communities; and the multitude of ways we can bridge lived experience, practice expertise and research-based evidence.
- We educate the current and future workforce
- We seek solutions to support healthier communities
- We honor the wisdom that comes from lived experience, practice expertise, AND research evidence
