Associate Professor
Dr. Wagner is a registered and licensed dietitian with a doctorate in public health. She’s certified in Public Health, Patient Safety, Lifestyle Medicine, Health Coaching and a certified Community Health Worker (CHW) Instructor. Dr. Wagner is an associate professor in the College of Public Health and the College of Nursing at UNT Health. Her research focuses on improving health outcomes by promoting health literacy and empowering community health workers as a conduit to health literacy through education. She’s a sought-after presenter and mentor with many accolades and awards. In 2024, she received the Texas Distinguished Dietitian Award, the National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Outstanding Dietitian Award and a Global Service Award from the International Health Literacy Association. Most recently, in 2025, she received a preceptor of the year award and was named a Fellow of the Texas Public Health Association.
