Q: Do you have any pets?

A: My wife and I have three cats and one guinea pig! We love all animals in our household (dogs included), but the cats and guinea pig fit our household better back when we were apartment living. Jinx is our eldest cat; she is all black and a classic scary cat but attached to me at the hip. Obi is a gray tabby who is chaotic and energetic. Doc is an orange-and-white cat who often poses like a rabbit and likes to press his nose against our noses. Our guinea pig is Pippin, and he's the old man of the house.

Q: What's your favorite local coffee shop or restaurant?

A: As a Chinese American, boba tea has been a staple beverage for me throughout my life. My favorite boba tea shop is a place called Boba Republic in the Allen/Plano area. My younger brother was one of the shop's first employees, and he used to give me free drinks during his shifts. Fun fact: they also catered my wedding!

Q: What is a fun fact about you that patients (or coworkers) might be surprised to learn?

A: I am a huge horror movie fan. I consider it one of my creative outlets outside of work. I have a spreadsheet that ranks and grades all the horror movies I’ve personally watched so far, so if you ever need any recommendations, I’m your guy.

Q: If you could instantly master a skill outside of medicine, what would it be?

A: I always wished I were a more talented music writer. I played several instruments growing up, including the piano, trumpet, and baritone, and I could follow sheet music pretty well, but I was never one to create my own music.

Q: What would be your favorite way to spend a Saturday with no plans?

A: I would start my Saturday by sleeping in as much as our pets will let us. My wife and I would cook our go-to weekend breakfast together of pancakes and eggs. We would then spend the day doing some of our favorite activities, like enjoying nature, playing video games together, and finding creative, fun ways to learn (museums, documentaries, you name it). We would end the day watching a great movie together on the couch, with all of our cats cuddled up with us.
