Research Security Trainings
Completion of Research Security Training is mandatory for covered individuals, who are defined by federal agencies as senior/key personnel listed on a federal grant application. Training must be completed within 12 months prior to the date of application submission.
Training should address key areas of research security, including:
- Cybersecurity
- International collaboration
- Foreign interference
- Proper use of funds
- Disclosure requirements
- Conflict of interest and conflict of commitment
There are several federally developed training options, including:
- NSF/NIH/DOE/DOD online Research Security Training modules
- SECURE Center condensed Research Security Training module
UNT Health also offers Research Security Training through the CITI Program. This training meets NIH requirements and covers the required research security topics.
To access the CITI Training:
- Visit https://www.citiprogram.org/
- Log in and affiliate with “University of North Texas Health Science Center”
- Add the Research Security course to your curriculum
Qualifying Research Security Training is valid for 12 months.
