Personal Bio
Baonhu is a PhD candidate working with Dr. Scott Maddux. Her research focuses on human evolution and climatic adaptation with an emphasis on respiratory form and function. Her dissertation project applies experimental protocols involving living humans to investigate the impacts of nasal vs. oral breathing on whole-body and brain thermoregulation. Baonhu’s research at UNT Health is supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (GFRP) and doctoral dissertation improvement grants from the National Science Foundation, Leakey Foundation, and Wenner-Gren Foundation.
